Meet the team.

Ben joined InfoSec People as a 360 Consultant in 2017, bringing with him a background in the teaching recruitment industry. In 2022, he became the Managing Director of InfoSec People after building his own desk and single-handedly setting up InfoSec People’s Contract division during the pandemic. Additionally, he took charge of hiring and training the team behind this division. Furthermore, Ben played a pivotal role in developing InfoSec People’s Statement of Work (SOW) offering.

As of 2023, Ben has officially become the owner of InfoSec People following a successful Management Buyout (MBO). This achievement marks the continuation of the company’s upward trajectory, solidifying its position as the best cyber security recruitment company in the industry. Ben’s expertise on IR35 enables him to provide his clients and candidates with all the necessary assistance to remain compliant with legislation.

In his spare time, Ben enjoys living in the Cotswolds with his fiancée, sons Harry and Raffy, and their miniature dachshund, Woody. He is also a dedicated Leeds United fan and enjoys a whisky to round off his week!

With a background in HR and recruitment compliance, Lauren joined InfoSec People six years ago with a passion for processes and getting things done! She is responsible for managing our business operations including our finance, compliance, HR, contractor management, internal hiring, facilities, suppliers, systems and processes. Outside of work Lauren will most likely be found in the front row at a gig or taking photos of her miniature Dachshund, Chip. Lauren is qualified in business administration, CMI, CIPD, CISMP and has recently completed an Open University degree in business management.

Harriet joined InfoSec People as a Marketing Executive in December 2020, receiving a promotion in April 2022 to Marketing Manager after winning the internal ‘Director’s Choice Award’ for her exceptional work within InfoSec People, in 2024 Harriet became the InfoSec People’s ‘Values Champion’ for going above and beyond. Harriet has a passion for finding new and exciting ways to engage with the cyber security and technology community over-seeing all marketing activities within the company. In her free time, Harriet enjoys watching geeky TV shows and films, attending comic cons, rollerblading, and bouldering. Joel joined InfoSec People as a Senior Information Security Recruitment Partner in August 2020, he has held multiple roles within the business as he has progressed, including; Contract Team Lead, Principal Consultant, Consultancy Lead, Cheltenham Team Lead, and is now Head of Practice – Security Consultancy. Joel’s role is to grow InfoSec People’s footprint across the industry and lead the team across delivery into the sector. Based in Worcestershire, Joel lives with his fiancée, young sons, and their cats. Joel is an accomplished guitar player and a big fan of Aston Villa.

James joined InfoSec in 2020 with three years’ experience in recruitment and quickly climbed the ladder to Principal Recruitment Partner, to then be promoted to Head of Practice – Security Operations. James has worked on both contract and permanent placements and really enjoys working within cyber security recruitment; he loves having a chat about all things cyber. Tom has joined InfoSec People as a Recruitment Partner within the InfoSec People team. Tom has 8 years of recruitment and business development experience across industrial and driving, education, cyber security, and general IT sectors. Tom has always had a passion for everything technology, so this feels like a perfect match! Tom prides himself on his consultative nature, working with candidates and clients to drill down into the finer details and create opportunities that are a perfect fit. Ali joins InfoSec People as our Head of contract, based out of our Bristol Office he is spear heading and expanding the contract division. Ali has over 7 years of recruitment experience, spanning across the technology and change spheres in multiple industries. Coming from a competitive swimming background, Ali finds solace in all things associated with water. In his spare time, you’ll catch him either riding the waves while surfing, hunting underwater treasures through spearfishing, or casting his line for a big catch while fishing. And if he happens to be on solid ground, chances are he’ll be splurging his money on food or planning his next thrilling adventure abroad!

Matt has joined InfoSec People as a Recruitment Delivery Partner, focusing on IT including Scrum Masters, Business Analysts and Java Developers, within the year Matt was promoted to Delivery Team Lead. Matt has previously worked as a Relationship Manager at UCAS as well as Ecotricity. He is passionate about mental health care in the workplace and has a black belt in Taekwondo. David joins InfoSec People’s advisory board as the official Strategic Advisor. David has nearly 40 years experience in business development, senior management and training in the recruitment industry and has set up and sold staffing companies in his earlier career. He has also worked in the maritime and cyber sectors and has a keen interest in mentoring and support. In his spare time, David has always been interested in sport, fitness, family and dogs but not necessarily in that order.

Steve joins InfoSec People as one our esteemed Advisory Board members. Steve has worked in Technology and more specifically Cyber Security for over 20 years. During his career he has worked across multiple industry sectors including; blue chip, government & defence, financial services, telecommunications, utilities and technology start-up. Steve began his career as a systems engineer with Intel where he developed a passion for Cyber Security. He has since successfully undertaken numerous CISO and security transformation roles for a variety of large and diverse organisations. In his spare time, Steve likes keeping fit by getting out on his road bike as often as possible, and also enjoys building electric guitars.

Following a 15-year career in the Royal Navy, Buck held a number of senior leadership roles at the Ministry of Defence. He then joined the Bank of England where he was Chief Information Security Officer and latterly Chief Security Officer. Buck designed the CBEST cyber testing program, for which he won a Bank of England Governors award. In June 2019, Buck joined HSBC as Group Head of Resilience Advisory Function, since January 2021 he has been a Head of Cyber in the defence industry.

Buck holds a Professorship in Cyber Security at the University of Gloucestershire and is a Cyber expert for the International Monetary Fund. Professor Rogers is also part of the Carnegie ‘Cyber Policy Initiative’ to develop an ‘International Strategy for Cybersecurity and the Global Financial System’.

Outside of “cyber”, Buck loves the Moomins, Depeche Mode (with tattoos to prove it) – and is an avid Norwich City Fan. Buck is also an advocate for neurodiversity due to being overt dyslexic.

A recognised and proven FTSE100 CISO with long interim tenures at Admiral Insurance, Coventry Building Society, Aviva and the Bank of England, Mark has direct experience of starting security programmes from scratch, leading cyber functions and reinvigorating security teams.

As one of our key advisory board members, Mark provides consultancy and advisory augmentation on InfoSec People searches. In his spare time Mark is a champion dog trainer and competes nationally with his gun dogs.
