What is nascentX?
NascentX is the start-up for aspiring start-ups. At its core, NascentX takes action and delivers tangible products, it does not exist to pontificate and drop a slide deck on your desk. NascentX exists to empower non-technical founders through the tough early days enabling them to build fast, iterate fast, learn and evolve their nascent business idea into a working business operation.
Where did the name nascentX come from?
nascent talks to our target audience, founders who are in their early days and need support, and action to move them forward. We aren’t about advice we are about coming shoulder to shoulder with founders and getting sh*t done. We have a strict bias for action and inject this into all the startups we work with.
Who are the key members of the nascentX?
Dave and Lee are the Partners at nascentX, both technologists who have worked in startup land, with VCs and PE firms and also in some of the world’s largest enterprises. We bring the skillset, drive and experience to help you take that leap from no product to an MVP in 20 days. We will help you execute and iterate quickly.
What was the driving force behind the creation of nascentX (why is it important to you)?
Lee and Dave have both experienced and want to disrupt the vampire economy that sucks the life out of startups before they launch, we want to help you ideate and validate, distil, build and launch all while avoiding the classic pitfalls across the startup technical landscape. We are your CTO as a service…
What advice would you give other start-ups?
From Lee “It’s the people who are going to get this thing done with you. But, there are a lot of snake oil sellers out there, this is the ‘vampire culture’ surrounding the community that Dave and I talk about.
Finding the right people is critical but tricky, especially if you’re starting out on the fringes. The wrong pick can be damaging and also costly to fix, I’ve got it wrong before and I thought I’d sunk the ship before it even set sail!
This is why Dave and I want to fill those initial gaps for founders so they have the time and confidence to pick right and build a team of dedicated high-performers. Don’t be charmed and don’t be rushed would be my advice, those are red flags 🚩. The best people are dead-honest and patient (within the bounds of common sense)”
From Dave “Don’t pursue perfection, just get started would be the biggest advice I would pass on. By getting started, getting something live that you can put in front of people, you start learning.
Entrepreneurialism is about finding the need and meeting it in a way people love…and that generates some kind of revenue. Until you launch something you don’t know if this is something people want or not. This is way speed and a bias for action or how we intend to turn up and help early stage start ups”
What range of services does nascentX offer?
We operate through action verbs: Validate, Distill, Build.
Validate – in a short space of time we help test and validate your idea and concept, providing a detailed report crafted through a detailed online survey and a design thinking workshop.
If we continue on the journey after the validate phase we will help you by Distilling your concept into a workable MVP, designing this MVP and then using this design to drive the next phase. Build, we will drive the development and tech delivery to get you from a Distilled design to live MVP in less than 20 days.

Driven by our experiences in the trenches of the startup world, we aren’t here to advise and deliver no value, we are here to significantly move your early-stage startup forward. We are here to help put bricks in the wall, not point at the bricks and expect you to do all the work.
What are the key problems NascentX solve?
Pre-seed founder? You are probably boot strapping – our dev price is likely to be ½ the cost of others as we have pre-established relationships with offshore dev houses who we are routinely working with. This enables us to cut out all the fat and just deliver the protein you need.
Trying to find a decent development team? We’ve been there and got the scars, don’t worry about this. We can drive the dev work, and when you are ready to in-house or move dev on shore we will facilitate this. We are here to help you build the right things quickly, we can help beyond launch but our focus is getting you an MVP to launch and learn from.
An investor? Lee and Dave validate dozens of startups each month, we can help you by validating and feeding your deal flow, helping you be more efficient and focused with your time.
