This September, our Head of Contract, Ali Maclean, is going to be embarking his biggest fundraising endeavour yet. On Saturday, 9th September, he will be swimming the distance of half a marathon in the magnificent Lake Windermere – the largest lake in the UK! All of his fundraising will go to supporting , Help Bristol’s Homeless (HBH).
Ali will be covering a distance of 21 kilometres, and will brave the waters and swim the distance of a half marathon. He will be navigating the right side of the lake to avoid encountering any potentially hazardous algae types, and will be equipped with his Garmin watch to accurately track his distance as he swims.
Now that his training is fully underway, he reaching out to the incredible community, family and friends to help support him in his fundraising efforts. All funds raised will directly benefit HBH, providing essential support and resources to those in need. HBH are a local registered charity whose ethos is that housing must come first, and everything else comes after. They put it best themselves when they say “we believe that having a home is not an entitlement, it is a RIGHT. Everybody should have the opportunity to live in a place they can call their own.”
Your contribution, no matter the size, will play a vital role in transforming the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness. Together, we can create positive change and make a real difference in our community. Please rally behind Ali as he takes on this exceptional challenge and make his swim an overwhelming success!
Thank you all for your incredible support and generosity.
